Polished Cavansite Palmstone

This rare and vibrant palmstone features polished Cavansite embedded in its natural matrix, typically a grey to off-white Stilbite or Heulandite host. Cavansite—short for calcium vanadium silicate—is a brilliant blue mineral known for forming striking radial sprays and rosettes. Its intense color comes from the presence of vanadium, and it is found primarily in the Wagholi Quarry region of Maharashtra, India.

Due to its delicate crystal structure and brittleness (Mohs hardness around 3 to 4), Cavansite is rarely cut or polished on its own. Instead, pieces like this are stabilized and shaped with the surrounding matrix to allow for handling without compromising the mineral’s integrity.
